Create My Chef / Cook CV

In a kitchen, the first question is always "Which kitchen, which position?" A chef CV should answer it clearly by showing your position, your section and the size of the operation.

State your position and section

Commis, demi chef, chef de partie and sous chef show a clear hierarchy. Also name your sections or specialities: hot kitchen, cold kitchen, grill, pastry, a particular cuisine.

Give the kitchen's capacity

Write how many covers you produced per service or how large the buffet was. A 50-cover bistro and an 800-guest hotel kitchen are very different.

Add food safety and training

Food safety / HACCP training is expected almost everywhere. Add any culinary qualifications and courses you've completed.

What Every Chef / Cook CV Should Include

  • Position and section
  • Kitchen capacity (covers / guests)
  • Food safety / HACCP training
  • Culinary qualifications

Example Work Experience Lines

Write your experience in the same concrete, measurable way:

  • "Ran the hot section for a 600-guest buffet kitchen."
  • "Wrote standard recipes and costings for 12 new menu dishes."
