Create My Waiter / Waitress CVRestaurants, cafés and hotels look for two things in a waiter: smooth service during busy shifts and good communication with guests. Your CV can be short, but it should give concrete evidence of both.
Name the type of venue
Fast casual, à la carte, hotel restaurant and banqueting are very different jobs. Instead of just "Waiter", write something like "Waiter at a 60-cover à la carte restaurant" so the manager can place your experience immediately.
Show the pace with numbers
Mention how many tables or covers you handled per shift, or the size of the events you worked. Numbers are far more convincing than "I work fast".
Make hygiene training and languages visible
Food hygiene or food safety training is one of the first things many employers ask about. In tourist areas, every extra language is a direct advantage - state your level honestly.
What Every Waiter / Waitress CV Should Include
- Food hygiene / food safety training (with date)
- Type of venue and length of employment
- Availability for evenings and weekends
- Languages and level
Example Work Experience Lines
Write your experience in the same concrete, measurable way:
- "Looked after an 8-table section in a restaurant serving around 120 guests per day."
- "Served at weddings and banquets of up to 300 guests as part of the events team."
